Show me the monster that said Halloween was just for kids and I’ll show you someone that hasn’t been exposed to what I’m about to share. Reformation Brewery, who recently announced that they will be opening a second location in downtown Woodstock, GA, took on a fun approach to Halloween, by pairing some of their well loved beers with the candy we all seem to devour first in our Trick-or-Treat bag.
First up is Stark, “a toasted porter with hints of mild chocolate. It can be paired with classic candies that blend salted caramel and chocolate, like Snickers and Twix” (Reformation Brewery). Now, I’ve had this brew and it is perfect for the cooler weather we have approaching; it goes down smooth, lite and is as dark as the night.

“If you’re a dark chocolate fan, try Declaration, an imperial stout with hints of smooth dark fruit and chocolate, with your favorite dark chocolate bar. Reformation’s Belgian-Style Ale Cadence, with deep fruit aromas and hints of caramel, can be enjoyed with fruit-filled sweets like fig newton’s and Bon Bons. Oren, a delicious India Pale Ale, has a fresh hop flavor that pairs perfectly with salted caramel and pretzels” (Reformation Brewery).
There you have it!! Halloween is only a couple of days away, so if you are planning on entering the dark of Halloween, make sure these beers accompany you. If you aren’t planning on going out, keep some of the candy for yourself, grab these beers and get ready to be freaked at how good they are to you. And if for some strange reason, you can’t find the candy, don’t worry, the Candyman will be waiting for you – he might be able to help!
