Here we have the Whirling Dervish, a Coffee Stout, but more identified as a Dry Irish Stout. Look out Guinness, Monday Night is coming to win this one!!
4.9% ABV 30 IBUs
Featuring locally roasted coffee beans from Batdorf & Bronson, Whirling Dervish captures the perfect harmony of roasted coffee beans and bitter dark chocolate. It pours a beautiful dark color with a cloud like and fluffy head – aromatic notes of chocolate brownies, some nuttiness, from the roast and of course a slight hint of coffee.
This beer is a great way to exit the season of winter. The coffee in this, with our partnership with Batdorf & Bronson, was truly exclusive, no one else has this.

While this isn’t a breakthrough beer per se, it is a phenomenal alternative and gateway beer for those that are into Dry Irish Stouts. You can taste the amount of respect given to the coffee selection in this beer in a way you’ve probably never had before. Another important detail I’d point out is the addition of flaked oats – this lends to a very smooth and complex body. Thin, as a Dry Irish Stout should be, it also takes on this miniature amount of umph (is that how you spell it) that makes it so different enough to make it special.
I’d suggest drinking this a little warmer than right out the fridge because the chocolate really shines as it warms. This is available at the brewery, so get it while you can.
